Solo Traveler: I visited on 28 Jul 2026 (Tuesday) at 2.30pm. I did not purchase my tickets beforehand - as buying online is 455k entrance fee + an additional service fee of 20k. I was able to talk to the locals who advised that the main entrance to Borobudur has been closed 3 years ago and has now been shifted to the west side of the temple (for reasons unbeknownst to them), but it’s just a couple of meters down from the main entrance. I was fortunate to get a ticket (I’m from SG) at 455k with the local’s help - as they mentioned they get sold out quickly online. Every visitor is given a special sandal (which comes inclusive with the entrance fee). You’re supposed to wear it prior entering the sacred grounds. Each visitor is also allowed 1 hour to view and take photos of Borobudur - afterwards the next batch of tourists comes in. All in all, a spectacular experience! |

Goed georganiseerd met een gids en niet te veel bezoekers. Shuttle brengt je naar de tempel en brengt je weer terug. Paraplu's tegen de zon. Je krijgt een flesje water en tempelsandalen. Prachtige plaats om te bezoeken. |
