Finally ticking this off my Bucket List. Flew into Surabaya for a 4D3N trip and realised Jogja is accessible 3.5hrs by express train! Woweee, managed to see two cities in one trip.<br><br>I visited Machu Picchu in 2023 and climbed Sigiriya, Pidurangala and Everest Base Camp in 2025. So I was super excited excited to see Borobudur (one of the world’s wonders).<br><br>We arrived early and realised the area and complexes are fairly huge. After redeeming our online tickets we hopped on a shuttle that took us to another complex roughly 5mins away. Arrived at another complex where we changed shoes to their Upanat slippers and waited again for our tour guide to arrive another 10-15mins. Please ensure you arrive early for your time slot. The system is quite strict to ensure the capacity of tourists are within limits.<br><br>Realised why when we finally arrived at the temple. From the waiting complex to the temple is another 5-10mins walk <phew>. Do dress accordingly otherwise the heat may get the better of you. The temple is actually not that big. Hence, the strict capacity of number of tourists. Steep steps take you up and up and up to Nirvana where mentally you leave all physical things behind and achieve awareness of who you are. Our tour guide spoke good English and provided enough stories throughout the 3.5 hours allocation. We were in a hurry to catch our train back to Surabaya so we exited early and started the looong walk back to the shuttle pick-up.<br><br>All-in all, it was a ‘Been There Done That’ experience. Once is enough for me but will return to Jogya since it has a more heritage cultural vibe compared to Surabaya. |

AMAZING! It was raining heavily when we arrived, had to put on a raincoat and luckily I had an umbrella. If not, there are peddlers selling umbrellas too (near the parking area)<br>Fita (Tour Group Leader 15 on 1 May - 9am slot) was very helpful and explained everything professionally! Took nice photos of us too!<br>All visitors are to join a tour leader and cannot go up to the temple complex by themselves, this is to control crowds. Which is VERY systematic! From taking the buggy all the way up the stupa, it was very systematic and not overcrowded.<br><br>Tip: please book tickets on the official website beforehand, just scan the QR code and collect the tickets. Please also choose the earlier slots 8.30am or 9.30am to avoid crowds. We took the 8.30am slot and there were lots of parking and then left at 12pm and by then the parking lot was FULL.<br><br>Overall, enjoy the views of the mountains surrounding the area too. You could see Menoreh and on a clear day even Merapi can be seen but we didn’t coz it was cloudy. |

絕對當之無愧的大景點，可說是日惹的象徵，來到日惹的觀光客100%要來這，離日惹市區車程約1-1.5個小時，對於自由行旅客來說，找像Klook之類的app報一日團是最好的方法。<br><br>抵達後是先到停車場，佔地很大，要繳停車費，接著步行前往售票處，外國人門票45萬印尼盾，但考慮到這是世界遺產大景點也不算貴，會給一雙拖鞋、水與提袋，鞋子要放到提袋內，入內要保護古蹟是強制穿拖鞋的，會綁上有QR碼的手環，入場直接掃碼，坐接駁車往波羅浮屠。<br><br>下車後會分配導覽，這也是強制性的，基本上就是英文導覽，一團約10人左右，要認旗號跟著導覽走，他會邊走邊介紹，從底下正面看波羅浮屠，光這樣就非常壯觀，因為有控管人數，不是立刻上去，上去後導覽會慢慢介紹並往上爬，若英文不好建議要先做功課才不會走馬看花，但這種超過千年歷史的偉大建築，就算不了解其歷史，光看那些佛像與壁畫就非常美。<br><br>最終爬到頂層，看看這72座佛塔，真是令人讚歎古人的建築技術與美學，真的是登峰造極，能夠保存如此久的時光到現在，簡直不可思議，這時在回頭眺望著皮拉默火山，天氣好時這眾佛注視的中爪哇大地，真是美極了。<br><br>在導覽帶領下不走回頭路從另一側下來，接著可選擇走路或坐接駁車回程，坐車要另外付錢，走路約15分鐘可回到入口處，可以跳過商店街直接下到停車場，或是走遠一點出去要穿過長長的土產賣場才能回停車場。<br><br>但這土產賣場真的讓人沒什麼消費慾，燈光昏暗，賣的東西大同小異，很多店都沒開，只想快快走過，所以建議對購物無興趣者，直接回停車場才是正確選擇。<br><br>但土產賣場差，無礙這波羅浮屠的偉大，它的精采與壯闊絕對可列入此生必去景點之一，整體評價毫無疑問的5.0顆星星，滿分！ |

Visiting Borobudur Temple was an overall great experience and something I had on my bucket list for a long time—finally completing it felt really special. The temple itself is impressive and well worth the visit, but be prepared for the heat, as it can get quite intense during the day. Carrying an umbrella or some form of sun protection is highly recommended. One unique aspect is that visitors are required to wear special slippers provided at the entrance before entering the temple structure. Also, make sure you remember your designated exit gate, as it can be a bit confusing—I personally had some difficulty finding mine. Despite these small challenges, it was a memorable and fulfilling experience. |

There are those moments in life when you go... "I am not significant in the landscape of eternity!"<br><br>Visiting Borobudur Temple most certainly brought that home to me. An engineering marvel! A complicated storybook carved into stone. And a monument of proportions that most westerners simply can't comprehend. (Though it seems there may be some correlation between temples like this and the Mayan ruins of north/central America!)<br><br>We were super lucky. Our guide was of an age that he used to play hide-and-seek with his childhood friends on the temple grounds, having grown up just a few hundred meters away. And to that end, there are now specific limits as to how many people can visit the temple each day. Annoying for the tourists. Good for preserving this amazing monument from +/- 1200 years ago.<br><br>I'm not a museum guy, but visiting this temple make me want to find my way back this remarkable region to see the stuff we didn't have time to see! Visiting Borobudur Temple was genuinely awe-inspiring — the sheer scale and structure completely live up to expectations.<br><br>What really made the experience stand out, though, was having a guide. Ours brought the entire site to life, clearly explaining the timeline of how it was built, lost, and eventually rediscovered. It added so much depth and context that you simply wouldn’t get wandering around on your own. You do have to enter with a guide and follow certain rules, but it’s easy to understand why — the preservation of this extraordinary site is clearly taken seriously, and rightly so.<br><br>The organisation was also impressive. The ticketing process was smooth, and the system for footwear was well handled. One helpful tip: ask about the best exit route when you arrive. Without that, you can end up on a very long walk out, which can actually be reduced to about 10 minutes if you know where you’re going. Head to exit where my finger is pointing in map on my photo.<br><br>We chose not to do the sunrise tour on the temple itself, as we’d heard it was expensive. Instead, we watched the sunrise from a nearby viewpoint and then visited Borobudur at for the 8:30am tour. Tickets booked in advance. That said, having now experienced it, I would absolutely recommend paying extra for the sunrise access if you can — it really does feel like a bucket list moment and worth the upgrade. Buy on the official website and see if your hotel can organise transport. Ours was 320 idr from 3.30 am till midday. Took us from our hotel in the city to sunrise point onto a hotel for breakfast then Borobudur then back to our hotel in Yogyakarta. Amazing value.<br><br>One thing to be aware of: the weather is unpredictable. If it’s cloudy, you may not see much of a sunrise at all, so it’s worth trying to pick a clear morning if possible (easier said than done!).<br><br>Beyond the temple itself, the surrounding grounds are beautifully maintained, with lush landscaping, trees, and flowers that make the whole experience even more special.<br><br>I left feeling incredibly impressed — and honestly, I’d consider going back again. |

到日惹，主要是為了婆羅浮屠這世界遺產來的，2月的淡季時去的，門票確實貴，但能親自去看這世界遺產，還是值得的，入場第一梯次08:30進去，要換鞋並拿號碼牌，接著在等待區等待導覽員，每個導覽員都會帶著10人左右的參觀人員來進行婆羅浮屠的參觀，全程都有導覽員帶領著，而在婆羅浮屠古蹟上大概有一個半小時的參觀時間，時間到了會廣播請該梯次的人員離開婆羅浮屠古蹟，上下遺產都有掃描手環條碼，以確認所有人都有進去跟離開，個人覺得這樣挺好的，避免婆羅浮屠遺跡上過多的人而影響參觀的品質。參觀時記得要注意防曬跟飲水，在遺跡上是沒有任何遮蔽物，天氣非常的炎熱。 |

LOVED our experience here! Truly an amazing UNESCO World Heritage site! The views from every angle are gorgeous with the temple stones acting as a contrast against the lush green backdrop of the Java landscape. The bas reliefs are so beautiful. We enjoyed learning about the religious significance and history of the site from the tour guide. Our particular guide was very informative and friendly. We had no problem understanding him. He did a great job of sharing info and also giving us time to explore on our own and to take pictures. Overall, definitely a MUST for visitors to the Yogyakarta area!<br><br>A few practical considerations:<br>(1) We didn’t want to pay for a special sunrise tour but got lucky that we found tickets to climb up the temple for the 8:30am slot. We would highly recommend this earliest slot and booking in advance because this site is ALL Sun and gets HOT!<br>(2) We did bring sun umbrellas and that helped a LOT - worth the trade off for taking time to repack that and a phone to safely climb up and down the steep stairs. I think it’s better than a hat which can trap in heat.<br>(3) while no food is allowed with IMR temple complex, you can bring a backpack to carry water - highly recommend doing this to help with the heat!<br>(4) All adults (sorry I didn’t pay attention to the kids needs 🫣) will be asked to wear provided sandals for tours to climb up the temple. They had two varieties from what we could tell and multiple sizes. If you have sensitive feet that easily chafe consider bringing toe socks. The sandals are a great souvenir keepsake! We bought a bag to put our own shoes in but they also provide one with the sandals.<br>(5) There are opportunities to use the restroom only before and after the tour so take them if you need them!<br>(6) Even with the reservation system limiting the number of visitors (vs pre pandemic) it still felt busy so adjust expectations accordingly. We were still able to find spots for private moments of reflection, to enjoy the scenery and take solo photos (at lower levels, not at the top). |

Setiap tingkatnya penuh sama relief yang detailnya luar biasa — kalau diliat dari dekat, ukirannya bercerita tentang kehidupan Buddha.<br><br>Pemandangannya juga juara. Kalau datang pagi-pagi, bisa lihat sunrise yang cantiknya nggak main-main, apalagi kalau cuacanya cerah. Udara di sekitar masih sejuk karena dikelilingi perbukitan dan sawah. Rasanya adem, damai, dan bikin betah berlama-lama.<br><br>Buat yang suka foto, setiap sudut Borobudur itu Instagramable banget 📸. Tapi jangan lupa, ini juga tempat suci, jadi tetap jaga sikap dan hormati aturan yang ada.<br><br>Pokoknya, Borobudur itu wajib banget masuk list destinasi kalau lagi jalan-jalan ke Jawa Tengah. Datang sekali rasanya nggak cukup! 🌿 |

Pernah dateng ke sini pas bulan Desember. Kami milih naik ke temple-nya. Tour guide-nya hebat banget, informatif, ngasih tau kami apa aja yang boleh dan nggak boleh dilakukan, terus ngarahin, ngasih tau sejarah tentang Borobudur. Pas naik, hmmmm panas bangett. Di dalam tuh jarang ada udara yang lewat (?). Pokoknya kayak dipanggang deh. Karena panas, jadi super sensitif hehe. Hati-hati aja deh.<br><br>Terus kami dapet sendal khusus dan totebag gitu, bisa dibawa pulang. Saranku sewa/bawa/beli payung, topi, kipas, dan botol minum. Tiga barang ini adalah barang wajib. Tempat di sini bersih banget, pelayanannya oke. Serius deh detail temple-nya beneran cakepppppp bangettttt.<br><br>Lalu yang kufoto itu museum di Borobudur. Harus bayar berapa gitu, lupa, tapi nggak mahal seingetku. Di dalamnya ada sejarah Borobudur, miniatur Borobudur, adem pol. Jujur alasan utama aku masuk museum ini karena pengen ngadem 🙏🏼<br><br>Lalu aku nemuin mushala yang tempat wudhunya tuh nggak dipisah antara laki-laki dan perempuan. Aku nggak tahu ya apakah semua mushola di Borobudur gini semua/enggak. Intinya aku harus nyari di lantai lain karena kurang nyaman kalau wudhu bersamaan dengan laki-laki. Untungnya nemu.<br><br>Terus di sana banyakkkk banget yang jualan printilan2. Kami beli gelang 10k dapet 3 biji, miniatur Borobudur, pakaian, makanan, minuman. Harganya beragam, harus pinter2 nyari yang lebih murah. Di toko yang jual topi2 deket parkiran N, M, gitu2 cukup mahal daripada toko2 yang ada di dalam.<br><br>Thanks. |

1. Terakhir kesini tahun 2000 yang lalu. Sekarang ternyata sudah banyak berubah.<br>2. Dari rumah mengikuti google map, tetapi karena titik tujuan saya kurang akurat bukan di pintu masuknya. Waktu saya berhenti kebingungan ada bapak2 pake motor nyamperin menawarkan untuk memandu saya. Tetapi saya tolak dengan halus, saya bilang mau pake google map saja.<br>3. Setelah jalan memutar akhirnya ketemu pintu masuk. Parkir sudah pakai gate otomatis, dan ternyata harus memakai kartu e-toll. Entah saya yang kurang update atau memang tidak pernah diberitahukan sebelumnya. Untungnya saya punya kartu toll.<br>4. Setelah parkir kami berjalan mengikuti petunjuk ke arah loket tiket. Tetapi cukup membingungkan karena diarahkan melewati kios pedagang souvenir. Setelah muter2 kebingungan akhirnya sampai di loket tiket.<br>5. Harga tiket dewasa 50 ribu dan anak 25 ribu untuk kunjungan ke pelataran.<br>6. Di dekat pintu masuk disediakan free shuttle sampai area candi.<br>7. Kami naik delman dengan ongkos 100 ribu diantar sampai depan pelataran. Kusirnya sangat friendly, meskipun terbata2 tetapi berusaha memberi informasi tempat2 yang kami lewati.<br>8. Karena cuaca yang sangat panas kami memutuskan untuk tidak naik ke pelataran, hanya foto2 dari jauh.<br>9. Setelah puas foto2 kami jalan menuju pintu luar yang jaraknya lumayan jauh. Harus menunggu shuttle di halte, dengan waktu tunggu lumayan lama.<br>10. Setelah turun dari shuttle kami jalan kaki menuju ke parkiran, tetapi lagi2 harus diputar2 melewati kios souvenir. Meskipun tujuannya bagus, tapi ini yang membuat saya kapok untuk datang lagi. |

Tpi blm ada petunjuk arah pagi pengunjung baik parkir apalgi pejlan kaki... dri parkiran ke loket dan pintu masuk jauh.<br>Jika mau naik sampi atas harus registrasi on line dulu, tpi jika hanya pelatran bisa langsung masuk dgn pembelian tiket terlebih dahulu di loket dgn hrga utk wisatawan lokal Rp. 50.000. Dan setelah itu kita naik sutle bus listrik terbuka sampi pd tak pengantaran dan kita masih berjalan cukup jauh sampi di pelatran borobudur, tdk ada petunjuk jln menuju ke akses poin borobudur. Candi Borobudur dengan wajah baru yang lebih tertata apik dan saya ngerasanya tempat ini jauh lebih adem dibandingkan beberapa tahun yang lalu.<br><br>Sekarang tersedia shuttle untuk penumpang, jadi lumayan membantu pengunjung biar ga terlalu lelah.<br><br>Hanya saja sekarang untuk naik ke atas candi tidak bisa sebebas dulu. Harus daftar terlebih dulu dan dibatasi kuota untuk bisa naik ke atas. Saya juga melihat saat naik ke candi sekarang ditemani tour guide yaa.<br><br>Untuk lokasi kios dan jalan pengunjung lebih bersih dan rapi jadi terasa memang lebih nyaman. |

Tiket masuk di pelataran dan naik di Candi berbeda.. Dewasa 75 balita 35, kalau ingin naik candi 2x lipat dari harga tersebut.<br>Untuk tarif delman 100rb bisa dinaiki 5-6 orang keliling taman candi, ada jasa foto menurut saya agak mahal ya tarif perfoto 15.000 kirim soft file, lebih murah di pantai hanya 5rb/pict. Tapi hasil foto di Candi bagus tidak mengecewakan. Ada kereta juga tarif kurang tau.<br>Harga di pasar Candi murah-murah, lebih baik belanja di bagian dalam karna harga lebih miring. Pintar-pintar menawar.<br>Saran saya sebagai orang asli Magelang, jangan perlihatkan kalau kalian orang kota karena bisa saja harga yang diberikan dari penjual tidak wajar. Itu saja review healing ke Candi Borobudur.. Recomended!! |

Salah satu tempat bersejarah dan tempat ikonik di daerah Magelang, terutama di Indonesia... Memiliki sejarah dan makna yang cukup dalam.<br><br>Saran saya ketika anda tertarik pergi, anda harus siapkan botol minum (lebih tepat bawa air putih), payung dan topi karena tempatnya cukup panas. Jika anda merasa lelah, jangan memaksakan diri. Terdapat pohon - pohon di pinggir perimeter Candi. Ataupun jika anda lelah untuk berjalan ke pintu keluar, terdapat minibus dan dokar yang tetap siaga.<br><br>Jika anda ingin berpergi ke Candi Borobudur, jangan lupa berkunjung ke tempat museumnya dengan nama "Museum Karmawibhangga" yang tepat berada di pintu keluar, agar bisa mengenal ceritanya lebih dalam.<br><br>Untuk saat ini, anda hanya bisa mengelilingi bagian perimeter Candi Borobudur. Jika anda ingin mendaki Candi Borobudur dan melihat pemandangan dari atas, anda harus reservasi terlebih dahulu.<br><br>Salah satu yang ingin saya sampaikan juga adalah betapa dikitnya tempat duduk dan tempat berteduh di bagian atas Candi Borobudur, mungkin bisa ditambahkan lebih banyak karena pengunjung yang bertambah banyak, dan pihak-pihak panitia bisa menegaskan lebih dalam jika ada yang melanggar peraturan, seperti tidak membersihkan sampah di tempat setelah memakainya.<br><br>Secara singkat, jika anda sekarang berada di Magelang, jangan ragu-ragu untuk berkunjung ke Candi Borobudur.
