351 Kate Efimova 5 Magnificent temple, the guide was really informative on the history and culture of the place. We went on Monday which meant couldn't fully explore the place, but the way I see it that meant we could take pictures with 0 people in them which was lovely. I would recommend coming here early morning or close to sunrise, 11am and after during mid-day is way too hot especially considering little shade & the size of the territory 1784597784452

354 rizkia kusumawardani 5 It was stunning building wonders.
The tales and visuals were beautiful.
Climbed a temple and it was a breathtaking experiences to see these beauty.
This place were also having a museum with audiovisual mini theatre, parks surrounding the temples, deer park, and supporting facilities in pretty well managed such as restaurant, cafe, food stall, toilets , tour package including other temples visit, photo service, musholla, tour guide, souvernir shops, huge parking lot. The overall place were clean and looks well put. Can do lot activities here even for kids. We also rent an umbrella to strolling around because it was super hot on my visit in early April. Tickets was affordable and bougth itu thru Travoloka. Worth to try and revisit ! Make sure to stay hydrated during your visit. 1776608259281 en
355 Loki 5 Prambanan Temple is an awe-inspiring testament to both human craftsmanship and resilience. These majestic Hindu temples, originally built in the 9th century, have endured earthquakes and the passage of time - yet still stand tall, carefully pieced back together from countless stone fragments

What makes the experience especially powerful is seeing both the restored structures and the areas that remain incomplete. The piles of stones and partially reconstructed sections quietly tell the story of natural disasters and the immense effort required to preserve this heritage site

Despite that, the level of detail is remarkable. The intricate carvings, relief panels, and statues - some still intact after centuries - are stunning up close and reflect a deep level of artistry and devotion

One strong recommendation: pay for a local guide. The site is rich with symbolism and stories, and without context, you’ll miss much of what makes it truly special. A guide brings the history, mythology, and architectural meaning to life

The only downside was the exit experience - you’re funneled through a stretch of stall sellers, which feels crowded and slightly detracts from an otherwise serene and reflective visit 1778080323489 en
356 Ulli Riki 5 Another highlight during our visit of Java. We went in the early afternoon and our site seeing was first stopped through some heavy rain but we still got the chance to see everything. Please note that umbrellas are not allowed inside the temple area. Food & drinks are not allowed inside too but you can leave it at the entrance at no extra charge. During our visit it was ok to wear normal shorts, t-shirts and sandals but better check before going. The temple area is very impressive and you can visit most of them inside too. Of course you will get more information with a guide but we just went along without.
I highly recommend a visit for a couple of hours in order to enjoy the sourounding area and the other temples. 1779609855131 en
1783848618893
358 Subarrai Chamling 5 Visited Prambanan Temple in the afternoon and had a great experience. The weather was cool, which made walking around the large complex very comfortable. The temples look stunning in the softer afternoon light, and the carvings are incredibly detailed. It can get a bit crowded, but the overall atmosphere is still enjoyable. We stayed until it got dark, but found it a bit difficult to locate the exit. In the end, we exited through the main entrance—fortunately a few staff were still there and allowed us to pass. Staying until sunset definitely made the visit special. Highly recommended.
1781571047401 ja
361 Jay dengle 5 Wow wow , We went on our own but upon arrival was two young students studying tourism offered to give us a free tour, explained all the history, these guys were awesome. They did not ask payment just practicing their knowledge, gave them a big tip which they did not want to take, but it honestly made the trip so cool.

The place has so much energy and history that you just get lost in time.

Top 4 experience of my life 1784650533754 en
362 Desiree Marietta 5 It’s like a complex of several stone temples, not a massive single one like Borobudur. So it’s smaller in size, but no less impressive. You can enter some structures and explore. You can’t take pics on the steps going inside the structures for safety reasons but there’s no sign prohibiting flash photography inside (it’s total darkness as there’s only one opening but there are interesting details inside, go explore!)

Be prepared: bring an umbrella/rain poncho (check weather) because it’s an open area & you don’t want to be caught in the rain (you can rent umbrellas though). Sunscreen & hat & uv cut jacket if you’re sensitive or melanin-deprived lol
And ofc a camera to take lots of pics! There are designated photo spots which can be a bit obscure. There are also photographers with decent cameras who know the perfect angles, don’t know the exact price but it’s likely about $10 or so.

You can bring a tumbler & snacks but they won’t allow a whole picnic basket. There’s a picnic package if you’re so inclined.
Go early if you want to go to both Prambanan & Ratu Boko. The free shuttle only runs until 14:30.

Entrance fee 50k weekdays & 65k weekends for Indonesian citizen, a tad pricier for foreigners (there’s a separate ticket box). Still cheap considering the vast expanse you can explore. I’d spend the whole day waking through the complex but it rained heavily so we had to cut our visit short. 1771339371208 en
363 HURİ’NİN DÜNYASI 5 9. YY inşa edilen hindu tapınağı, restore edilen bölümleri ve harabeleri görülmeye değer.
999 büyüklü küçüklü tapınaktan oluşuyor. Bakımlı ve tertemiz . Ziyaret eden yerel halk çok güleryüzlü, çalışanlar çok yardımsever 1779949148730 tr
364 chin siong lai 5 Historical preserved place worth visiting. Eventhough not 100% because of multiple times of natural erosion. But effort of preserving tge place worth for us to pay visit. There are tour which can bring you around to outside surrounding chandi. Which is worth to experience it. 1765627819699
365 Kah Yung Pat 5 Monday main temple close for maintenance. But still have other 3 candi. For best sunset is the last and largest candi sewu. It is also know for 2nd largest after borobudur in Indonesia 1784129438293 en
366 martina 5 Prambanan Temple is an absolute must-see! The towering structures are breathtaking, but having Micco as our guide truly made the experience.

He was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing the deep history of the site while keeping us entertained with some hilarious stories.

The whole tour had such a great vibe - it felt less like a history lesson and more like exploring with a friend. If you’re planning a visit, I highly recommend booking a tour with Micco to get the most out of this stunning place!
1780062653192 tr
368 Astha Sarin 5 When you enter the place. It looks like a heaven. This place has some vibrant vibe or right word is cosmic. You will see lot of pictures of it but it did not justify the beauty 😍it holds. You will see the hindu temples of Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu with there vahanas. Than sun and moon temple also. Special mention take a guide so you will get deep knowledge of that place. Please take umbrella too you can't predict nature. 1772013132832 en
369 Georgi Sariev 5 Really special and amazing Hindu Temple. The energy of the place is amazing,we were group of 23 person and all of us was quite tired and sleepy but after we step here ,all of them become very energetic and enthusiastic. It was a great experience and also the guide Hari made it even more spectacular. I seriously recommend it 🙏🏻🌞🪷 1775466163935 en
372 Andreas Bahariyanto 5 Prambanan not just a tourist spot as usual. The three massive structure of Candi Siva, Brahman, Visnu were magical treasures that evoques a great cultural identity of the Nusantara ancestors. Behind the hundreds of statues of the divine gods and aesthetic reliefs, there are noble meanings of moral and cultural values that have lived and been believed in by our ancestors for centuries. This is an empirical landmark that magnify the highest achievement of Nusantara civilization in architectural technology and civil engineering in the earlies century. Hence, the Candi and all the details signify the power of human spirituality and it's relation with cosmological foundations. Raising a mixture reality of sacred space and beautiful narration about life, relationship, environment, eternal love, power, over all creations. Visit it in the early morning or in the evening to get the stunning visual experience. Enjoy the breeze and the sunlight penetrates thousands of rocks and sands, creating shadows and slowly removing the cold - the night dew. Flashes of color between the layers of the each temple were emphasize the structure and details of the character of the Ramayana relief panels that tell stories and are eternal. Perhaps this is also the most appropriate time for Hindus to be silent, give thanks and raise their prayers and praise to the gods and goddesses. Will do leave it for the uncertainty or exchange it with foreign culture identity? 1772967055072 en
373 Alejandro Marti 5 Amazing Hindu temple, really recommend paying for a guide because of not it's just a bunch of stones piled together.. also because of the heat rent a golf cart for you to take one to different places (the whole complex is 80 hectars). So if one doesn't want to walk, golf cart is the way to explore the temple complete. Would recommend also to go in the morning because of the heat and humidity. Also it has a lot of similarities to Ankor Wat in Cambodia. It's amazing. 1776930549765 en

1782633880648 ja
375 Michael Van Malderen 5 Very impressive Hindu temple complex. Absolutely worth the visit. Good experience, a bit crowdy in certain places but not in a way that it becomes unpleasant. 1783835044558
376 Imelda Bunnhams 5 It was a fascinating event that expanded the cultural and was incredibly accessible. There is a group of people (an English Course) who will assist you in explaining some of the history of Prambanan Temple in english, which will greatly boost their confidence.
Keep a good works kids 1777968760581
377 Valeria Wellejus (Leah) 5 Very relaxed atmosphere, not much of a crowd. Could enter the complex in a knee-length dress no problem. They also have an area with deers and a peacock. You can rent bicycles or golf carts to move around the complex. Bought my tickets in advance, but there was no queue for ticket office. 1775978978297 en
378 Vincent Rusmanto 5 Visited Prambanan Temple as part of a group tour, and it was a fantastic experience. The temple complex is stunning, and having a professional guide who has been guiding for many years, really added depth and insight to the visit. Highly recommended. 1766969561212 en
379 Sadewa 48 5 Prambanan Temple is one of the iconic and well-known places to visit in Yogyakarta. It is also part of the World Heritage List by the UNESCO. This is definitely a recommended place to visit when coming to Yogyakarta. There are 4 temples that you can explore in the whole complex, from Prambanan Temple, to other 3 temples such as Lumbung Temple, Bubrah Temple, and Sewu Temple. There is also a museum where you get to learn more about the temple and its history.

The temple itself has a magnificent architecture, and it is still fully preserved. You get to see the beautiful temples and also taking pictures of it. There are many other mini temples inside Prambanan Temple, and you get to step inside each of the buildings to explore each of them. Just be sure to obey the rules that are set in the area. The temples can get crowded (came on weekdays and it was still crowded), especially in the main areas.

The whole complex is also very spacious. There are many activities that you can do here as well, such as renting an electric scooter or bicycle if you want to explore the whole area, and there are also playground for the kids. There is also a cafe there. There are plenty of souvenir shops and food stalls right in the exit gates.

Overall, such an incredible experience visiting here. There are plenty of activities to do, and many sites to visit here. Highly recommend spending for at least 3 hours exploring the area for a worthwhile experience! 1768459880778 en
